Terms and Conditions

All Clients/Owners must agree to the following terms and conditions via their customer portal before attending doggy daycare or grooming appointments

Health and Behaviour
  • All dogs must be in good general health, and any health issues must be divulged to Pitter Patter Paws staff. 

  • All dogs must be fully vaccinated and stay up to date with all vaccinations, with proof of current vaccinations provided to Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne. Your veterinarian can provide proof of vaccination on request. 

  • If your dog(s) are diagnosed with any form of infectious disease this must be divulged to Pitter Patter Paws and are not allowed to return to Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne until their infectious period is over and/or have had clearance from your veterinarian.

  • Any known behavioural issues including but not limited to, dominance, mounting, snapping, excessive jumping etc. must be divulged to Pitter Patter Paws Staff on enrolment. 

  • Neutering or spaying is not required, but female dogs will not be allowed to attend daycare or grooming bookings while they are on heat. 

  • Any behaviours deemed potentially dangerous or inappropriate displayed by dogs while attending Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne may result in a referral to a trainer and or the refusal of services until the dog(s) receive clearance from a professional dog trainer. 

  • Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne allows dogs to interact and play off-leash with one another under supervision. Dogs are animals and by nature, each will react differently and can be unpredictable at times therefore can present a certain level of risk. Pitter Patter Paws Staff will administer any first aid to any injuries that may occur and notify owners as soon as possible. 

The Salon (GROOMING)
  • Grooming can be a stressful and physically demanding process for dogs, all health and behaviour issues must be disclosed to Pitter Patter Paws Staff on check-in. 

  • Pitter Patter Paws puts your dog’s comfort and well-being above all else. In the event of matting, groomers may need to clip the coat shorter than requested as de-matting is a painful and unnecessary process. 

  • Clipping a matted dog may reveal pre-existing conditions such as skin irritation, sores, fleas etc. 

  • Matting can also increase the risk of injury during grooming including nicks, cuts, clipper rash, hematomas, extra mental/physical stress etc. 

  • Additional matting fees will apply at the discretion of Pitter Patter Paws Staff. 

  • Our groomers will make this process as safe as possible for all dogs, by taking extra time with matted, difficult, and anxious dogs where necessary. 

  • The total grooming process can take 3 or more hours depending on breed, size, condition, and coat type. 

  • Fleas and other parasites must be disclosed to Pitter Patter Paws Staff at check-in. If your dog is found with fleas, they will be flea-bathed with the additional cost added on to your booking. 

  • In the event of any deviation from the requested groom, due to fleas, matting, behaviour etc., we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible, but we will make the best choice for the well-being, and comfort of your dog(s) 

  • Pitter Patter Paws staff may refuse service due to behaviour, condition, and/or health. 

The Farm (BOARDING)
  • A booking deposit is required to secure a booking, the amount is determined by length of stay. (Usually one night)

  • Owners are welcome to provide their own bedding, and a limited number of toys for their pet’s stay, Pitter Patter Paws Staff will take care to keep personal belongings in good condition but do not take any responsibility for damage done by your pet or items lost. For this reason, we do not recommend bringing your pet’s favourite belongings.

  • The Farm is open by appointment only.

Puppy Preschool
  • All puppies are required to be between 8 and 16 weeks old by their first session.

  • All puppies are required to be up to date with all vaccinations, and parasite control medications. They must also stay valid for the duration of the course.

  • All puppies must be in good health to attend classes.

  • If bringing multiple people to classes, there is a limit of two adults, with one of them being the main trainer during the course. If you would like to bring more people (including children) this will be up to the discretion of the trainer running your course.

  • If you fail to meet any of the above, will result in the refusal of entry for the sake of your puppy and the other puppies’ health and safety.

Check in and Check out
  • Pitter Patter Paws The Daycare is open from 6:30 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays. If you do not pick up your dog before close of business, there will be a late fee will be charged on check-out. 

  • All dogs should be wearing a collar and/or harness at the time of drop-off at Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne. Preferably with a name tag for ease of identification.

  • Pitter Patter Paws The Salon is open 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays. 

  • Dog(s) must be dropped off within 30 minutes of their booking time, failure to do so without notice may result in your booking being cancelled and a cancellation/no-show fee charged.

  • Dog(s) must be picked up within two hours of receiving a text or call stating they are ready, failure to do so may result in a daycare charge added to your booking.

  • Pitter Patter Paws The Farm is open for check-in/check-out by appointment only – please contact 0491 629 404 to organise. Boarding Appointments can also be checked in at any of our locations in Flemington. 

Bundled Bookings
  • Bookings for both daycare and grooming or ‘bundles’ may require the transportation of your dog(s) between our daycare location (424-426 Racecourse Rd., Flemington.) and our grooming location (564 Racecourse Rd., Flemington.) 

  • Pitter Patter Paws staff will make this process as safe as possible for your dog(s), via the use of slip leads and other equipment but clients must understand and accept the risks associated with the transportation of their dog(s) before booking in bundles. 

  • Pitter Patter Paws may refuse to transport your dog(s), if their collar/harness is unsuitable (Ill-fitted, damaged, etc.), or they exhibit undesired behaviours (leash aggression, excessive pulling, etc.). You will be contacted if this is the case. All potential behaviours must be divulged to staff on check-in. 

Bookings and Payments
  • Daycare and Grooming bookings are mandatory to ensure your spot. 

  • All bookings must be made in person, via text, email, or call. 

  • All bookings must be confirmed by Pitter Patter Paw Staff via reply email, text or in person, if bookings are not confirmed by staff, you may be turned away on the day. 

  • All clients have the opportunity to make reoccurring bookings but are subject to the cancellation policies below.

  • Payment must be made in full on check out via cash, card or direct debit - payments over the phone are also available.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy
  • Pitter Patter Paws Melbourne has a 24-hour cancellation policy for all services. 

  • If we do not receive a minimum of 24 hours' notice or if you fail to attend your booking, you will be charged the cancellation/no-show fee. 

  • Our cancellation/no-show fee is the full price of the initial booking or a deduction on your prepaid memberships. 

  • If reoccurring bookings are regularly changed and/or no-shows, we will cancel the reoccurring booking and offer the spaces to clients on our waitlists.
